Aldermen eye $8.7M for Broad Street Elementary School Project
Nashua Board of Aldermen considers the financing resolution March 25.
The Nashua Board of Aldermen tonight will consider authorizing Mayor Lozeau and the city treasurer to issue up to $8,790,250 in bonds for Broad Street Elementary School improvements.
The financing resolution is for building renovations and improvements related to HVAC, heating, ventilation and air condition systems.
The board meets at 7:30 p.m., March 25, at Nashua City Hall.
Last week, the city Planning Board approved a conditional use permit and a proposed site plan for renovations to the existing school, with improvements including additional parking and reconfiguration of bus lanes at the 390 Broad St. property.
The project also involves security and electrical system upgrades, and a complete re-roofing of the school, according to Shawn Smith, director of plant operations for the school district.
The plan is for the project to be completed by August 2015.
Smith said Harvey Construction Co., the construction manager, has the final drawings and specifications and is in the process of bidding out the work, with the hope of receiving Construction Committee approval of the sub-contracts over the next few weeks.
The Board of Aldermen agenda for March 25 is attached.
