A suspicious basement fire has been ruled arson, and a 13-year-old is allegedly responsible, police say.

Nashua Police have charged a 13-year-old Nashua boy with arson in a weekend apartment fire.
On Oct. 26 fire crews responded to Regent Park Apartments on Deerwood Drive for the report of a suspicious fire involving juveniles. Detectives from the Police Department’s Youth Services Division furthered the investigation.
It was determined through the course of the investigation that a 13 year-old boy was responsible for setting the fire. He was taken into custody without incident just before 3 p.m. and charged with delinquent child: arson, a class A felony. The fire, which was initiated in the basement level of the apartment, caused minor damage. The boy was later released into the custody of his parents and has a pending court date at the 9th Circuit Nashua District Division Court.
