Plane Crash Reported Near Amherst Street And Everett Turnpike In Nashua

Breaking: A plane reportedly crashed in the area of Southwood Drive and Cannongate Road.

NASHUA, NH — First responders have been sent to a plane crash in the area of the Somerset Plaza off Amherst Street and the Everett Turnpike.

Limited information is available at post time, but according to FlightAware.com, a plane took off from Nashua Airport just past 2 p.m. The plane reportedly circled the area twice before losing altitude and crashing near several apartment buildings and a shopping center about 11 minutes later.

Damage was reported to at least one building. Nashua fire and rescue teams are reporting smoke coming from the top floor of one of the buildings. Only one patient is being evaluated, according to scanner chatter. It is unknown how many people were on the plane.

Fire and rescue teams reported shutting down a furnace in a building.

Eversource and Liberty Utilities were requested to the scene, as well as airport and emergency management officials.
