Brawl At Lake Involving Logs And Rocks Led To Felony Charges

HOLLIS, NH — On Friday, June 26, Hollis police officers and Hollis Fire Department medical personnel responded to Silver Lake State Park for a report of a large disturbance.

Brookline police officers also responded to assist due to the report of the large crowd.

Upon arriving officers determined that a large fight had occurred within the state park between two groups of people unknown to one another. At one point during the altercation, several people were said to have been using large pieces of wood and rocks as weapons.

It was also learned by officers that several juveniles were either directly involved and/or witness to the events.

Three people suffered minor injuries as a result and were treated by EMS personnel but not transported to the hospital. Two did seek medical treatment later in the evening and were released from the hospital.

After talking with numerous witnesses during their on scene investigation, one arrest was made. Joel Severino, 27, of Lawrence, Massachusetts, was placed under arrest and has been charged with (2) counts of Second Degree Assault, Class B Felony.

Severino was later released on bail and will be arraigned in The Hillsborough County Superior Court South on Aug. 6.
