Cause of Police Cruiser Crash Still Under Wraps

Police said Tuesday that no particulars were available about a two-vehicle crash Monday, involving a Nashua Police cruiser.

According to Nashua Police Sgt. Brian Kenny, the crash happened just before 5 p.m. at the intersection of New Dunstable Road and Joffre Street, which is a one-way street.

Nashua Police Officer Kevin Pucillo was responding to a call for service when the accident happened, Kenny said.

The names of two occupants of the second vehicle, a pick-up truck, are not being identified at this time, Kenny said.

NH State Police were called to reconstruct the accident, said Lt. Christopher Wagner, Troop B Commander out of Bedford.

Wagner said the accident was "low threshold" and the State Police were investigating to eliminate any possibility of a perceived conflict of interest by Nashua Police.

Results of the crash investigation would be released to Nashua Police when completed, Wagner said.

Pucillo and one of the occupants of the truck were transported for what turned out to be minor injuries, Kenny said.

Kenny said the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
