Convicted Sex Offender Failed To Update Address 3 Times

On August 12, 2013, at approximately 9:36 a.m. officers of the Nashua Police Department’s Uniform Field Operation Bureau arrested Matthew Runnells, 28, of 40 Chestnut Street pursuant to an arrest warrant. Runnells is being charged with Duty to Report Class A Felony.

On June 24t, 2013 detectives in the Nashua Police Department’s Youth Services Division identified Matthew Runnells, a Tier III registered sexual offender as being non-compliant with his registration requirements.

Runnells failed to complete his sexual offender registration with the law enforcement agency having jurisdiction over his place of residence, which he was required to do. An arrest warrant was subsequently issued for his arrest.

An ensuing investigation revealed that Runnells had also failed to inform the Nashua Police Department of changes in his address on two separate occasions. He will subsequently be charged with two additional counts of Duty to Inform.

Runnells’s charges will be upgraded to class A Felonies due to a previous conviction for Duty to Inform.

A class A Felony is punishable by up to 15 years imprisonment in State Prison, exclusive of fines for each count. Runnells is being held at the Nashua Police Department on $4,000 cash bail pending his arraignment at the 9th Circuit Nashua District Court on August 13th, 2013.
