Nashua Community College is committed to serving non-traditional learners and helping them achieve their personal and career goals with the Accelerated Lifelong Learner Program. This program allows students to complete an associate degree in 20 months or a certificate in 10 months. The Accelerated Lifelong Learner programs aims to meet the needs of adults who are juggling their education with responsibilities of their family, work, and other commitments they may have.

ALL mixes online, evening, hybrid and weekend courses. “The accelerated program is unique in its mission to accommodate working students who want to pursue full-time education along with full or part-time work, and family responsibilities,” said Mackenzie Murphy, CTE Continuing Education and ALL program coordinator.

This fall, NCC piloted the Business Management and Psychology program with the first cohort of students. Jennifer P., a current Business Management student in the ALL program said, “The ALL program has given me the opportunity to reach my goals. Mackenzie Murphy and the faculty at Nashua Community College made going back to school a great experience!”

The ALL program meets the busy schedules of our non-traditional students, but also provides students who go through this program with feelings of connectedness with their professors, NCC staff and peers.

Accelerated Lifelong Learner Programs Include:

  • Business Administration: Management
  • Psychology

How it works:

For many non-traditional students, it’s difficult to manage taking 4-5 full term (15-week) courses while working full-time. In the ALL program, students take two, 8-week courses at a time, including the summer and winter term, to complete an associate degree in 20 months, or a certificate within 10 months. Students still take a full time course load each semester, but in a compressed term format. The ALL program maps out structured course schedules so students can plan ahead and know what to expect for class time and homework.

Some students may be closer to earning their degree, than they think! NCC accepts transfer credits, credits-for experience, ACE Credit, Military Experience, and CLEP (College Level Examination Program).

As the Accelerated Lifelong Learner program progresses, more degree and certificate pathways will be offered!

Registration is now open for the late-start 8-week semester term beginning on October 26, as well as the spring semester beginning in January. Tuition assistance is also available for the fall 2020 semester for those who have experienced a financial loss or an increase in expenditures due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
