Elderly Brookline Man Struck And Killed By Pickup Truck On Route 130
It appears the man was struck while crossing the road and EMS determined he was deceased. The road was closed during the investigation.
BROOKLINE, NH — Brookline police and firefighters responded to a report of a pedestrian struck and down on Route 130, commonly referred to as Pepperell Road, in the area of Cider Mill Road Monday.
A pickup traveling on the road struck an elderly man who was crossing the road, and the elderly man was thrown about 20 yards. When Fire and EMS arrived at the scene, they determined the man, a Brookline resident, was deceased, according to Brookline Chief William Quigley.
The road was closed with assistance for several area police departments for hours as investigators measured and photographed the scene, including the damage to the front of the full-size pickup truck.

The Medical Examiner responded to the scene, and a local funeral home removed the victim from the scene.
Quigley said the crash remains under investigation, and it is unknown if there will be charges related to the incident. The section of Route 130 where the accident occurred has signs indicating the speed limit is 35 MPH.

Mason and Hollis Police assisted Brookline police at the scene.
