Everett Turnpike Closed In Nashua Near Exit 5 North For Fatal Crash
One person died in a crash involving a pedestrian and a pickup truck on the northbound side. The incident occurred at 5:30 a.m. on Friday.
NASHUA, NH — One person was killed in an early morning crash on the F.E. Everett Turnpike Friday in an incident appearing to involve a pedestrian and a pickup truck.
New Hampshire State Police and Nashua Police were notified of a pedestrian walking in the area of the turnpike just before 5:30 a.m. Shortly after the dispatch for the report of a pedestrian, 911 calls came in for a person struck on the turnpike near Mile Marker 5.2, around the Exit 5 northbound onramp.
Nashua Fire Rescue and AMR ambulance arrived at the scene and reported one person deceased at the scene.

The northbound side of the turnpike was temporarily closed to allow investigators to work; traffic was diverted off the Exit 5 offramp.
A white pickup truck with significant front-end damage remains at the scene, and the body of the victim remains on the ground awaiting the Medical Examiner.

As of 7:30 a.m., the northbound side remained closed and is expected to remain closed for an extended period of time.
At this time, no information has been released on the age, sex, or name of the victim. No information about the driver of the pickup truck has been released and it is unknown if they suffered any physical injuries.
The accident occurred close to the Mine Falls trail area, which has been the location of several homeless camps in the past. It is unknown if the person walked onto the highway from one of those areas.
