Firefighter Injured In 3-Alarm Fire On Greeley Street In Hudson
Crews from Nashua, Pelham, Litchfield, Windham, Derry, Manchester, Dracut, and Salem responded. Nine people were displaced from the fire.
HUDSON, NH — The Hudson Fire Department received calls for a reported structure fire at 82 Greeley St. on Thursday.
Hudson Deputy Chief James Paquette arrived within minutes of the call being dispatched and reported heavy fire showing from a duplex. Firefighters were quickly faced with live power lines that had come down from the house and limited access for fire crews.
The heavy fire quickly spread through the two and half story building and a third alarm was requested. Firefighters worked to fight the intense fire that had engulfed the entire building.

A mayday emergency was declared when a Nashua firefighter working on the second floor fell through the burning floor onto the first floor. The firefighter according to sources at the scene was able to hold onto the hose that was held by his crew to assist in breaking the fall, and assisting in the rescue.
Firefighters worked to remove the injured firefighter and brought him to waiting medics. The firefighter was transported to a Nashua hospital with injuries including burns and is expected to survive.

After the floor collapsed all firefighters were ordered out of the building by command and a defensive attack on the fire was implemented.
A Manchester ladder truck responded to the scene and was extended to the roof to assist in ventilation and fighting the fire. It took firefighters from several towns and cities to extinguish the fire that burned for hours. Fire crews responded from Nashua, Pelham, Litchfield, Windham, Derry, Manchester, Dracut, and Salem.
The fire is under investigation, and all residents escaped safely. The American Red Cross is assisting the displaced occupants.
