Firefighters Rescue Woman Who Fell Into Nashua River
Nashua fire officials said a woman fell down an embankment into the Nashua River near the public library.

NASHUA, NH — Nashua firefighters on Tuesday rescued a woman who fell into the frigid Nashua River. Nashua Deputy Fire Chief Glen MacDonald said the woman was on Pearson Avenue near the Nashua Public Library when she slid down an embankment, fell into the river and injured herself.
Police officers and firefighters tossed her a floatation device and a firefighter lowered himself with a rope to reach her, according to MacDonald. She was pulled to safety and hospitalized with injuries that were described as non-life threatening.
The rescue happened at about 3 p.m. as light snow fell on the city and the water temperature hovered around freezing.
