Fund Set Up for Kids to See Dad Graduate Basic Training

A group of Nashua friends is rallying behind a GoFundMe campaign to help a family pay travel expenses to see their father, a member of the New Hampshire Air National Guard, graduate from basic training in Texas.

The fund has so far raised $865 of a $2,500 goal.

The GoFundMe online crowdfunding page, which was created by Christopher Philibotte of Nashua, aims to help Ashley Sullivan and her three children attend their father's graduation. Shawn Sullivan will be graduating from U.S. Air Force Basic Military Training after joining the Air National Guard on May 30, according to the page.

Nick Daponde, another friend, says it's inspirational to help a mother and her children be there for their father's big day to, as he puts it, "fulfill his lifelong dream of serving our country."

Ashley Sullivan gives thanks on the Gofundme page: "If I could cash in my gratitude I could fly around the world."
