Gov. Hassan in Nashua on Tuesday

She is scheduled to speak at BAE Systems' Women in Technology graduation luncheon.

Gov. Maggie Hassan is scheduled to speak at the BAE Systems Women in Technology Program Graduation Luncheon on Tuesday in Nashua.

Hassan will congratulate this year’s graduates and highlighting the importance of helping young people develop the skills and critical thinking necessary for success in the innovation economy.

In its 19th year, BAE Systems’ Women in Technology program encourages female high school students to pursue careers in technology, selecting local students to be mentored by BAE Systems employees in engineering and technology disciplines. This year, 18 young women will graduate from the program.

In her State of the State address, Hassan continued her focus on building a strong workforce that can fill good jobs at growing businesses, announcing that she will create a taskforce to help modernize science, technology, math and engineering (STEM) education, and that the state will launch a new program to strengthen the New Hampshire’s workforce pipeline by partnering manufacturing companies directly with classes at local schools.

The governor is scheduled to speak at 1 p.m. at Sky Meadow Country Club, located at 6 Mountain Laurels Drive.
