
Motorists are being asked to avoid the area of Derry Road (Route 102) after an accident knocked out power throughout a large part of town.
Just before 1 p.m. Hudson Police and Fire departments responded to the area of Derry Street at Derry Lane for a report of a single vehicle collision with a utility pole.
It was determined a Dodge Avenger was traveling south on Derry Street. The Dodge then struck a utility pole off the right shoulder of the road. The Dodge was operated by William Gaillardertz, 21, of Hudson. There was also a 21 year old female passenger. Both occupants were seatbelted at the time of the crash. There was no airbag deployment. Neither were injured.

The utility pole sustained damage causing power outages in the north end of town. PSNH crews are on scene taking care of repairs which may take several hours. The traffic lights at Derry Street (Rte 102) and Robinson Road are without power and not working. The road at Derry Street and Derry Lane is closed with a detour. The Hudson Police are requesting commuters seek alternate routes this evening to by pass Route 102, Derry Street in Hudson. The Hudson Police are further requesting those motorists that must travel this route use extreme caution. Temporary stop signs are in place at Derry Street and Robinson
