Hudson Fire Lieutenant, Paramedic Killed In Motorcycle Accident
Lt. Todd Berube was killed on Route 102 on Monday. Police say his motorcycle collided with a Mazda sedan.
HUDSON, NH — Hudson police and fire responded to a report of a motorcycle accident on Derry Street, Route 102, on Monday.
While responders were en route, they were advised that CPR was in progress and a medical helicopter was requested. They arrived around 6 p.m. Members of the Hudson police and Hudson fire departments began to administer life-saving measures to the injured motorcyclist. Despite life-saving measures, the motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The motorcyclist has been identified as Todd Berube who is an active-duty Lieutenant and Paramedic with the Hudson Fire Department.

The initial crash investigation determined a 2018 Mazda 3 sedan was traveling east on Route 102. The 2003 Kawasaki Vulcan motorcycle was traveling west. As the Mazda sedan made a left-hand turn, the motorcycle crashed into the passenger side of the sedan.
The female operator of the sedan was not injured. The motorcyclist was wearing a DOT-approved helmet.

Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the cause of this collision.
In a statement, Hudson Fire Chief Scott Tice said it was with profound sadness and grief that he and members of the department announced the death of Berube.
Berube began his fire service career with the Milford Fire Department as a call firefighter and joined the Hudson Fire Department on July 1, 2002, as a full-time firefighter. He was also a member of the Litchfield Fire Department where he served as a call firefighter since January 2020. Todd was promoted to the rank of lieutenant with the Hudson Fire Department on Jan. 29, 2017, and was well known for his dedication and pride of the fire service and for his love of his family.
"We wish to offer Todd’s family, friends, and coworkers our most sincere condolences as we all process this tremendous loss. We respectfully ask for privacy for Todd’s family during this difficult time. Funeral arrangements are pending and information will be provided when it is available."
