Labor Coalition Announces Endorsements

The Nashua Labor Coalition has announced their endorsements for the municipal council.

The Nashua Labor Coalition has announced their endorsements for those running in the municipal council election.

“This election is very important and will shape the direction that Nashua takes in the next couple of years,” Deb Howes, chairwoman of the Nashua Labor Coalition, said. “We have chosen to support those candidates who are trying to strengthen our public schools, working to rebuild our crumbling infrastructure, and keep Nashua moving in the right direction.”

The Nashua Labor Coalition is a group composed of unions in the Nashua area.

The Labor Coalitions endorses candidates for mayor, and Wards 1-4 and 6-8, but they have declined to endorse candidates for Wards 5 and 9, as those races are uncontested and the coalition believes those running “do not have a good track record of supporting working families.”

The Labor Coalition’s endorsement for mayor is Alderman Jim Donchess and endorsements for Alderman-at-Large goes to Brian S. McCarthy, Michael O’Brien and Lori Wilshire.

Endorsements for Wards 1-4 go to Janice Schmidt, Richard A Dowd, Kimberly Kleiner and Thomas Lopez, respectively.

Wards 6-8 have the Labor Coalition endorsing Benjamin Clemons, June M. Caron and Mary Ann Melizzi-Golja as representatives on the council.

Voting is Tuesday, Nov. 3.
