Litchfield Elementary Students Moved Out Of Griffin Memorial
Police, school officials cautiously moved students out of an elementary school on Charles Bancroft Highway on Friday; searches are underway.
LITCHFIELD, NH — Litchfield police and Hillsborough County Sheriffs arrived at the Griffin Memorial School on Charles Bancroft Highway in Litchfield at about 9 a.m.
Upon arrival, police began to coordinate having buses to be dispatched to the school to evacuate students to an alternative location. Multiple buses arrived at the school and law enforcement escorted students to the buses. As parents arrived at the school, they were turned away to go to an alternative location.
A line of busses left the Griffin Memorial School and traveled about 10 minutes to the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Litchfield on Derry Road. Students remained on the buses and hundreds of parents arrived by car to pick up their children. Derry Road was lined for a sizable distance as parents parked on both sides of the road, many running to the busses.

School administration with the assistance of Litchfield police, fire, and law enforcement coordinated getting the children matched to the parents.
After the students were evacuated from their school, scanner chatter from Litchfield police indicated “they were beginning their search.” After about 45 minutes a second radio transmission indicated “primary search complete, secondary search underway.”

About 500 students from pre-kindergarten to fourth grade attend classes at the school.
At this time it does not to be any active threat, and no students, faculty or law enforcement are injured.
No notices were posted on the school's Twitter feed or website at post time.
It is unknown if the movement of students is related in any way to the Dec. 17 TikTok Shooting Challenge alerts school officials in New Hampshire and other states were warned about on Thursday or is a copycat or prank notice.
