Man Breaks In, Takes Jewelry, Snoozes in Camper, Gets Arrested

You steal and you snooze, you lose.

Javier Suarez, 45, of 190 Ledge Street #104, Nashua, was arrested Aug. 1 at about 11:30 p.m., after police say he broke into the home of an acquaintance and allegedly stole some jewelry and other items, then entering and falling asleep in a camper that did not belong to him.

Suarez is charged with burglary, class B Felony, theft by unauthorized taking, a class A felony and criminal trespass,  a class A misdemeanor.

According to a police narrative, on August 1, 2013 at approximately 8:01 p.m., patrol officers responded to a downtown address for the report of a burglary. Upon arrival, officers made contact with a woman who reported that a man known to her family, Javier Suarez, was inside their residence when they arrived home. She told police  that Suarez had entered their residence through a window and after he left, they discovered that they were missing assorted jewelry, valued in excess of $1,500. Suarez was located later at a different downtown address, sleeping inside a camper, which he did not have permission to be in.

A class A felony is punishable by up to 15 years imprisonment, exclusive of fines. A class B felony is punishable by up to 7 years imprisonment, exclusive of fines. A class A misdemeanor is punishable by up to 1 year in county jail, exclusive of fines. Suarez was being held at the Nashua Police Department on $50,000 cash bail, pending his arraignment at the 9th Circuit Nashua District Division Court.
