Man From Brockton, Massachusetts, Faces Strangulation, Other Charges In Nashua, New Hampshire

NASHUA, NH — A man from the Bay State is facing felony charges after an incident in Nashua last week, according to police.
Ivano Correia, 42, of Brockton, Massachusetts, was arrested on Aug. 6 on two counts of second-degree assault-strangulation and tampering with witnesses and informants, all felonies, as well as domestic violence-simple assault.

Police were sent to a residence in the city for a report of a domestic disturbance. During their investigation, officers learned a victim had been strangled and assaulted. As a result of the attack, the victim could not breathe or speak, according to police. Special Investigations Division detectives worked the case, which led to the charges against Correia.
Correia was processed and held on preventative detention. He was scheduled to be arraigned in Nashua District Court on Aug. 7.
