Man Faces Felony Charge in Jewelry Theft
Richard Fortin is accused of stealing $7,500 in jewelry from a residence in June.

On August 9, 2013, members of the Nashua Police Department Criminal Investigations Division arrested a Wilton resident for Theft by Unauthorized Taking or Transfer, class A Felony.
Richard Fortin, age 23, of 21 Adams Drive, Wilton, was arrested at the Nashua Police Department, at approximately 8:39 a.m. Aug. 9, charged with theft by unauthorized taking or transfer, a class A felony, in connection with a June 15 incident at a Nashua residence.
On that day at approximately 12:04 p.m., Nashua Police patrol officers responded to a local residence for a report of a theft where someone took jewelry valued in excess of $7,500. The investigation was furthered by Detectives in the Criminal Investigations Division and a warrant was issued for Fortin.

A Class A Felony is punishable by up to 15 years in the New Hampshire State Prison, exclusive of fines. Fortin was released from the Nashua Police Department on $ 10,000 personal recognizance bail pending his arraignment at the 9th Circuit-District Division-Nashua Court on August 20, 2013.
