Man Indicted for Forcing Mom on Drug Buy, Threatening to Kill Her
His mother escaped at the Salem Walmart after he forced her at knifepoint to take him to a drug buy.

A Nashua man has been indicted on a number of charges for allegedly threatening to kill his mother after he allegedly kidnapped her and forced her to take him to a drug buy.
Shaun Driscoll, of 9 Mark St. in Nashua, faces trial on a Class B felony count of criminal restraint, a Class B felony count of criminal threatening, a misdemeanor count of unauthorized use of a propelled vehicle, and a count of breach of bail conditions in connection to the incident, which occurred on July 13, 2013.
Driscoll, then 28, was arrested on July 13 after his 67-year-old mother ran to Salem Walmart employees and claimed that her son was threatening her.
The woman told police that she was attacked by her son on July 12 in Nashua. She said he threatened her with a knife and said she was also locked in her bathroom earlier that morning from 1 to 9 a.m.
Police have said that she claimed her son later took her from her house in Nashua and forced her to drive to Lawrence, Mass., to buy heroin and withdraw money from an ATM. The woman said the two then left Lawrence and drove to the Salem Walmart.
She told police that her son told her to stay by her side and if she tried to run away, he would kill her with bayonet blade. While her son was distracted looking at guns in the store, the woman reportedly escaped and made contact with the employee.
When police responded, the suspect took the victim's car — a 2006 Mazda Tribute — but was located in the upper parking area of Walmart by Salem police before he could escape.
A bayonet blade was recovered inside the victim's car.
In addition to the Salem charges, Nashua police arrested Driscoll on kidnapping and armed robbery charges, both of which were Class A felonies.
