Manchester Woman Faces 33 Charges In Child Abuse Investigation
An injured child brought to a Nashua hospital spurred an investigation. Jessica Laferriere and Felipe Monteiro face charges in the case.

MANCHESTER, NH — Manchester police have brought additional charges against a woman already facing charges related to injuring a child.
Jessica Laferriere, 31, or Manchester was arrested in January after a child in her care was brought to a Nashua hospital with significant bruising on multiple parts of the body. Laferriere was released on personal recognizance bail after the January arrest.
Police continued their investigation and say they believe Laferriere assaulted children in her care on multiple occasions, according to a report. The abuse occurred and escalated during an entire year. Investigators said they determined all the assaults happened in Manchester.

Laferriere is accused of 11 counts of second-degree assault, two counts of falsifying evidence, five counts of criminal threatening, and 15 counts of endangering the welfare of a child, according to MPD Spokesperson Heather Hamel.
Investigators also arrested Felipe Monteiro, 33, of Manchester in connection to the abuse investigation. Investigators determined that Monteiro allegedly knew about the assaults, and did not report them. Monteiro was is accused of two counts of falsifying evidence, 12 counts of violating the child protection act, and 12 counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

Laferriere and Monteiro will be arraigned in Hillsborough County Superior Court, however, the date was not specified in the Manchester police press release.
