Manchester’s 7th Annual PeopleFest returns on August 24

Manchester's 'cultural pot luck' event will feature Nashua's Raymond Street Klezmer Band.

See the world in a single day as musicians, dancers, artisans, and food vendors from Manchester’s many diverse cultures converge on Veterans Park in Manchester on Saturday, August 24, for the city’s 7th annual PeopleFest Celebration.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and is free. PeopleFest will again be sharing the Park with the Manchester Artists’ Association’s Art in the Park Celebration featuring exhibits by local and regional artists. The rain date for the event is August 25.

PeopleFest brings together people from many diverse backgrounds to share their heritage and showcase their unique talents and traditions. Music and dance groups from across the state will perform on the World Stage throughout the day, while craft and food vendors, local service providers and cultural organizations will man display tables.

Among the performers on the World Stage this year are the Raymond Street Klezmer Band from Nashua, the Cunniffe Academy Irish Dancers, and The Bollywood Academy Indian Dancers. There will be food vendors offering a variety of delicious treats from around the world.

Kathy Staub, who is serving as chair of the PeopleFest Committee, describes the event as Manchester’s cultural potluck. “People bring the best of their cultural and heritage to share with the community. Every year the mix is a little different.”
