Meet Holly Boivin, Nashua's 'Kid Jeopardy' Contestant

Holly Boivin puts Nashua on the TV game show map with a great performance, winning $20,700.

She's poised, a good speller, knows karate and loves "celebratory cheesecake." Holly Boivin, 13, of Nashua, is also good at answering questions on game shows, in particular, "Jeopardy," the long-running Q&A TV show, on which Holly appeared Aug. 2.

She walked away with $20,700 during a recent taping of a kid-focused episode of the program, which aired Aug. 2.

In order to qualify for the tournament, prospective kid contestants were selected from those who passed a 25-question online test, which Holly took last year. Those hopefuls were then invited to attend regional in-person auditions consisting of a second 25-question test, an interview, and mock game play.

Holly, an avid game player on her tablet, is a  seventh-graders at Hudson’s Presentation of Mary Academy, where she got a shout out in the school newsletter.

She said she just wanted to make the hometown crowd proud.

She also said she wasn't sure what she was going to do with her winnings, but likely would save most of it for her future education expenses, and treat her family to "celebratory cheesecake" with a trip to the Cheesecake Factory.

You can watch a brief behind the scenes interview with her here on the Jeopardy official website, where Holly reveals her passion for karate, spelling and playing outside with her brother, "sometimes."
