Microsoft Imagine Academy at Nashua Community College
Workforce development programs on NCC campus and online.

NASHUA - Students and working professionals are signing up for Microsoft Imagine Academy courses at Nashua Community College to get an edge at work or in their job search.
“It’s a great enhancement for your resume,” said Samantha Belcourt, CTE Continuing Education Coordinator at Nashua Community College. Students undergo about 15 hours of training to become certified in signature Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Data Access, and more.
“Microsoft Imagine Academy is an industry-recognized certificate program; whether you’re changing careers or enhancing your current skills, a Microsoft certification can help you reach your goals,” said Belcourt.

Anyone can sign up and earn their Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) and Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) certifications. Nashua Community College offers online or on-campus training, as well as testing for Microsoft certifications. NCC is currently the only site in New Hampshire authorized as a Microsoft Certiport testing Center.
“We have had people in industries such as engineering and advanced manufacturing take the Excel Core class, and we’ve seen adult students who are changing careers and want to be more technical computer savvy,” said Belcourt.

As a non-credit workforce development course, the program is accelerated to suit most schedules. The next Excel Core – Accelerated class is Oct. 7 - 8, a Monday and Tuesday, from 8 AM - 4 PM. The same course material is also taught from Nov. 2 - 23 on Saturdays from 8 AM - 12 PM. Students can also sign up anytime for the online course.
“Now that we have an online section in Excel Core, we’re open for ongoing enrollment, so there’s no waiting. People can take the course on their own schedule,” said Belcourt.
The Microsoft Imagine Academy training also appeals to students enrolled in for-credit programs, especially individuals working toward their business and accounting degrees.
Microsoft Imagine Academy training at NCC began with Excel Core in spring 2019, led by a team of experienced instructors. New trainings for skills on the Productivity, Data Science, IT Infrastructure, and Computer Science Learning Paths will be available at Nashua Community College in the near future.
“We have a great new instructor, Dawn Reeby, an amazing data strategist, on the team,” said Belcourt. Reeby joins Program Coordinator of Computer Training at NCC, Kim Eckenrode, and Computer Applications Instructor Linda Seabury.
