Artists on Review is Sunday

This exhibition and sale of sculptures and artwork is May 4, as part of Nashua's Sculpture Month.

A one-day, outdoor exhibition and sale of sculptures and art by New Hampshire artists is scheduled for downtown this Sunday, May 4.

The event will be at 30 Temple Street Plaza from noon to 5 p.m. In the case of rain or foul weather, it will be moved inside.

The 2014 Artists on Review Exhibition and Sale will focus on sculptures and art suitable for the home, office and garden. The sculptors and artists will be on hand as well.

"The 30 Temple Street Plaza is a wonderful outdoor space with convenient access and parking right in the heart of downtown Nashua. It is art in an unexpected place, a perfect location for an outdoor art exhibit and sale," said Meri Goyette, director of MG Associates and organizer of the event, in a press release.

“Spring is the time of year when people are sprucing up their homes, offices and gardens, and what better way than by adding a beautiful sculpture or piece of art."

Peter Dibble of Hudson is one of the sculptors exhibiting. "I have a fondness for interactive installation sculpture and how it relates with its environment and with viewers, without resorting to complex gimmickry," Dibble said in the press release.

Dibble's work has been displayed throughout the area. He recently completed two large sculptures for local homeowners, both over 6 feet tall.

Liz Sibley Fletcher, of Fletcher Pottery Works in Mason, will be exhibiting three stoneware clay sculptures.

Jeffrey Cooper, a wood sculptor located in Portsmouth, will be showing custom wood and stone pieces suitable for both the home and garden. In addition to his furniture with uniquely styled relief carvings, Cooper has been commissioned to do public art pieces at libraries, hospitals and other settings.

Other sculptors and artists include John Weidman, co-founder of the Nashua International Sculpture Symposium, Patricia Ahern, Janice Cosby, Ken Mayo, Christine Netishen, Darold Rorabacher, Julio Abuilera, Jessica Smith and Ken Gidge.

The Seedling Café, located at 30 Temple St., will be open for lunch until 2 p.m., and the Nashua Public Library is open from 1 to 5 p.m. Five of the Nashua International Sculpture Symposium’s works are located in the vicinity of the Plaza and information on walking tours will be available.

Artists on Review is organized by MG Associates, City Arts Nashua, the Nashua International Sculpture Symposium, and is hosted by RJ Finlay & Company at their 30 Temple Street location in Downtown Nashua.
