“Open House is a great opportunity to not only learn about the programs we offer, but to explore career pathways,” said Laura Tremblay, director of admissions at NCC. Faculty work closely with local business leaders, many of whom serve on NCC advisory boards to keep academics aligned with industry needs. It’s a win-win collaboration that helps students find work, and ensures grads will have the up-to-date skills employers need.

Students of all ages benefit from NCC’s relationship with local industry. “At Open House, we meet people looking for a career change -- a fresh start. We also have high school students looking for the next step after graduation,” said Laura Tremblay.

The entire campus is available to explore with student-guided tours during Open House, and faculty and staff gather in the gym with videos, displays, and other exhibitions illustrating each program.

“You can spend one-on-one time with department chairs and program coordinators, and talk about which field or degree you want to pursue. It’s a great chance to explore your interests, ask questions of an experienced educator who has worked in the field and figure out where your interests can take you,” she said.

How to apply

The NCC application is free, and students are admitted on a rolling basis. To complete an application on site at Open House, bring your high school diploma or GED/HiSET, SAT scores, and an official college transcript (for any non-NCC credits).

Classes are still available for the second half of spring 2020, an 8-week term that runs March 23 - May 9. Prospective students may also apply for the summer, fall, or the following spring.
