Nashua Community College Transfer Pathways
Merrimack grad saves thousands at NCC, enrolls in pharmacy school.

Merrimack native Angelina LaSala enrolled at Nashua Community College in search a direction for her college and career goals. “When I first started college, I had no clue what I wanted to major in,” said Angelina, “Attending NCC allowed me to take many different classes, for a lot cheaper than it would have been at any university, in order to figure out what I wanted to do. I saved thousands of dollars by starting my degree at NCC.”
Not knowing what program to choose at first, Angelina enrolled in liberal arts, “This program allowed me to take a broad range of classes in order to decide what I wanted to major in.”
Angelina transferred to UNH-Manchester in 2016 where she majored in Biological Sciences. She said the transfer process went smoothly, “NCC did a great job in making the transfer process easy.”

Academic Advising Center staff at NCC facilitate the transfer process to make it as smooth as possible. “Any questions I had were answered quickly and thoroughly. It was a lot easier than I had ever thought it would have been,” she said.
Jumping between a community college and a four-year university was also an easy transition, she said, “Both schools had the same expectations; I would not say that one was easier than the other. I did not find it hard to adjust to UNH after transferring from NCC.”

The best part is Angelina carried her NCC credits with her, “If a credit did not count towards a class that I intended it to, it was instead counted towards elective credits. Because of this, I was able to save lots of time and money.”
This fall, Angelina plans to enroll in the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences with the goal of becoming a licensed pharmacist. “Starting at NCC allowed me to experience what my different career options were all while being affordable at the same time,” she said.
