Nashua Drug Sweep Nets Man With Fentanyl: Police

Nashua police Richard Rowell was found with 20 grams of heroin mixed with fentanyl and 40 grams of crack cocaine.

NASHUA, NH — A Nashua man was arrested Thursday in the latest "Granite Shield" drug sweep, according to police. Richard Rowell, 46, was charged with heroin/fentanyl possession with intent to distribute (second offense) and crack cocaine possession with intent to distribute (second offense). He was held without bail pending an arraignment Friday.

Rowell was found with 20 grams of heroin mixed with fentanyl and 40 grams of crack cocaine, according to Nashua Police Lt. Brian Kenney.

"He will face enhanced penalties due to the amount of drugs found in his possession," Kenney said in a statement.

Granite Shield is a state-funded police program targeting opioid distribution. Police said citizens with information about drug activity should contact the department's narcotics hotline at 603-594-3597.
