One resident was evaluated for smoke exposure but declined transport by AMR ambulance. Nashua Police assisted with traffic and informational gathering at the scene.

A working smoke detector alerted family members to the fire.

Deputy Chief Gerhard said limited access to all sides of the structure due to neighborhood layout made access difficult. Difficult access did not prevent rapid-fire extinguishment with limited extension and no injuries.

The cause was unattended cooking and accidental in nature.

Gerhard reminds people never to leave cooking unattended for any period of time. Cooking fires are one of the main causes of home fires in the United States.
