Nashua Man Charged with Hudson Car Theft

Paul Johnson Jr. was also wanted on a warrant out of Amherst.

A Nashua man faces stolen vehicle charges after fleeing police in Hudson.

On August 23, 2013 at approximately 3:53 p.m., Officer Davis, of the Hudson Police Motorcycle Unit, attempted to stop a vehicle on Lowell Road for a motor vehicle violation. The operator of the vehicle initially stopped, however, he then fled the scene at a high rate of speed and and abandoned the vehicle in the area of the Burns Hill Apartment Complex. It was determined at the scene that the vehicle had been reported stolen several days earlier and the lone male driver had fled on foot into one of the buildings.

Approximately 20 minutes later, the driver was located, placed under arrest and identified as Paul Johnson, Jr., 26, of Nashua, who is charged with: Disobeying a Police Officer, Receiving Stolen Property, Habitual Offender, Reckless Operation, Motor Vehicle Inspection Requirements, Arrest on a Warrant (Amherst Police Department.)

Bail was set at $100,000 Cash/Surety and Johnson was transported to the Rockingham County House of Correction. Johnson is scheduled to be arraigned on the morning of August 26, 2013 at the 9th Circuit Court in Nashua.
