Nashua Papa Gino's, D'Angelo Restaurants Close

The Nashua Papa Gino's and D'Angelo restaurants were closed as pizza chain Papa Gino's shuttered 50 locations across New England.

NASHUA, NH -- Pizza chain Papa Gino's, a New England institution since the 1960s, on Sunday closed about 50 restaurants -- including two in Nashua. The Nashua Papa Gino's at 261 Daniel Webster Highway and Nashua D'Angleo at 494 Amherst Street were shuttered. A recorded telephone message at both restaurants said, "This restaurant is now permanently closed." Papa Gino's owns D'Angelo, a sandwich chain.

Papa Gino's also closed restaurants in Portsmouth and Manchester.

The closures left Papa Gino's with 12 locations in New Hampshire: Concord, Derry, Dover, Gilford, Hudson, Londonderry, Manchester, Merrimack, Plaistow, Rochester, Salem and Seabrook. Eighty-five other Papa Gino's restaurants across New England also remained open.
