Nashua Public Health Dept. Launches Resource Guide For Recovery Month
The Community Connections Resource Guide provides contact information for prevention, early intervention, treatment and recovery supports.
NASHUA, NH — The City of Nashua Division of Public Health and Community Services (DPHCS) has announced the launch of the Community Connections Resource Guide, which arrives for Recovery Month, a national observance held every September.
According to local health experts, the online Resource Guide provides contact information for local prevention, early intervention, treatment and recovery supports. The four categories within the resource guide are: immediate services, general health services, mental health services and substance misuse services.
"As members of the community, we recognize that addiction is a disease and mental health issues are complex. We encourage you to reach out and get help as early as possible," said Lisa Vasquez, behavioral health strategist at the City of Nashua DPHCS.

Recovery Month serves as an opportunity to improve the lives of those affected by mental health and substance use disorders by raising awareness and educating communities about the effective services that are available.
In addition to the Resource Guide, people struggling with addiction can access substance use disorder (SUD) services by dialing 2-1-1 for entry into The New Hampshire (NH) Doorway program, the statewide initiative that provides comprehensive addiction services to residents experiencing substance use disorder. The program helps to facilitate access to treatment and offers ongoing monitoring as needed.
Locally, the Nashua Doorway is located at 268 Main Street. Its hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. People in crisis also can get support by dialing 9-8-8.
