NCC Is on Campus and Online

Labs reopen as college prepares for Fall.

NASHUA – Nashua Community College welcomed students back on campus the first week of June to complete spring labs and continue career training instruction. This signals the first wave of students returning to campus, as the college prepares for the safe return of more students to campus this summer and fall.

The first summer courses beginning in May were 100 percent online, but the final 6-week summer term July 6 – Aug. 14 has hybrid courses planned; meaning the classes will have online and on-campus instruction. See NCC’s 6-week summer schedule online, or contact our Admissions Office at nashua@ccsnh.edu or 603.578.8908 to learn more about what’s available this summer.

Those returning to campus follow safety protocols in the labs and throughout campus, such as pre-arrival health screening, and the use of designated entrances and exits.

The 10-week Microelectronics Boot Camp also returned to campus the first week of June. While boot camp students joined remote lectures this spring, they were able to come back to the lab updated with safety measures, such as temporary barriers between lab stations.

The Microelectronics Boot Camp prepares students for entry-level ribbon/wire bonding and manual epoxy dispense and die attach positions at local companies, such as BAE Systems, Mercury Systems, Lockheed Martin, API Tech, and more. On successful completion of this non-credit program, students are guaranteed an interview at BAE Systems, the founding partner of the boot camp.

The hiring rate for program grads has remained at nearly 95 percent since it launched in 2016. The current class graduates July 3, and a new session will begin July 20. To learn more or sign up, contact coordinator Jon Mason at jmason@ccsnh.edu or 603.717.1490.

NCC also launched new remote learning opportunities this summer, such as 100 percent online Microsoft Training and Certification.

Students enrolled in the self-paced Microsoft trainings can expect to spend about 20 hours on the program to earn Industry Recognized Credentials in popular applications such as Word and Excel. They also benefit from the guidance of an experienced instructor. NCC’s Microsoft trainings are accepting new students throughout the summer.
