NCC hosts Veterans College and Career Fair Nov. 13
The College and Career Fair is open to the public.

In honor of Veterans Day Nashua Community College will host a Veterans College and Career Fair in partnership with the Manchester VA Medical Center on Wednesday, Nov. 13 from 4-7 pm in the college atrium. Participating employers including Amazon, GE Aviation, MilliporeSigma, Alene Candles, Harbor Homes and The Job Center will be onsite to highlight open positions and offer on-the-spot interviews. A veteran counselor from NCC will also be available to discuss GI benefits and career pathways.
“The Veterans College and Career Fair is a one-stop-shop to learn more about the veteran-friendly companies in our backyard who are hiring and also offering tuition assistance for positions that might require a specific certification,” said Samantha Belcourt, CTE coordinator of continuing education at NCC.
The U.S. Department of Labor reported that unemployment for veterans has reached its lowest rate (3.2 percent) since 2001. However, veterans still face obstacles when finding employment outside of the service. The key to ensuring veterans can successfully transition to civilian life is through public-private partnerships that offer access to and awareness of programs and services, according to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
