NH Conference for Women to Feature
Tory Johnson of Good Morning America
The keynote speaker for the 4th annual NH Conference for Women is Tory Johnson, a contributor on ABC’s Good Morning America.
Tory Johnson is all about helping women make things happen. A painful firing from a job she loved led her to shift from employee to entrepreneur and build two multi-million dollar businesses. For 14 years, Women For Hire career expos have connected thousands of women with top employers across the nation. At her Spark & Hustle conferences, entrepreneurs learn how to profit from their passion for small business success.
Now, after a second major life change—losing more than 60 pounds in a year, which was prompted by a frank conversation with one of her ABC bosses—Tory is on a mission to help others make the Shift for a better life. Tory shares what she learned in her own year-long weight loss journey to inspire others to change for good. “I finally recognized that what I put in my head is much more powerful than what I put in my mouth,” she says. Overweight her whole life, Tory says, “I had tried and failed at every diet and gimmick, and I assumed it was my fate to be fat forever.” That is, until a big boss led her to believe that the extra weight was jeopardizing her TV career. At that moment, Tory decided it was time to change her mind for a better life, which is chronicled in her new book, The Shift, published in September (Hyperion).
One of Tory's most important realizations over the course of her Shift was the direct connection between health and wealth. She will be sharing her thoughts and insights in her keynote address “MAKE THE SHIFT: Discover the Moment and Method to Change Your Mind for a Better Life” at the 4th annual NH Conference for Women on November 8, 2013. According to Johnson, “Since two-thirds of U.S. adults are overweight or obese, failing time and again with the battle of the bulge because their heads are not in the game, there are few topics more pressing than taking control of your health and wellness.”
