Obama Endorses Nashua Democrat In 2018 Midterm Election
Barack Obama endorsed Dan Toomey, a Nashua Democrat running for state representative.

NASHUA, NH -- Barack Obama endorsed a Nashua Democrat running for state representative in the 2018 midterm election. Obama backed Dan Toomey, who's running to represent Nashua's Ward 5 in Hillsborough District 32. Toomey was one of 25 New Hampshire Democrats Obama endorsed on Monday.
"(The) candidates ... aren’t just running against something, but for something—to expand opportunity for all of us and to restore dignity, honor, and compassion to public service," Obama tweeted. "They deserve your vote."
Toomey released this statement, "I'm extremely proud to announce that my candidacy for State Representative has been endorsed by President Barack Obama. As a former State Legislator, he recognizes the importance of winning elections at every level of government."

Obama also endorsed Amherst's Shannon Chandley, who's running for state senator, Milford's Joelle Martin, running for state representative, and Jon Morgan, who's running for state senator in the district that includes Exeter.
At the top of the ticket, Obama endorsed Molly Kelly for governor and Chris Pappas and Ann Kuster for Congress.

The New Hampshire endorsements were among 260 Obama issued Monday for races across the country.
The election is November 6.
