Orangetheory Fitness to Open Nashua Facility

The facility, which could be open by this summer, will be the first location in northern New England.

Orangetheory Fitness, the energizing, heart rate-monitored interval fitness concept sweeping the nation, is coming soon to greater Nashua. Different from traditional gym workouts, Orangetheory Fitness offers 60-minute sessions broken into segments of cardiovascular and strength training, producing a tremendous metabolic increase and calorie burn for more than a day after the workout. The high-intensity interval training is the number one fitness trend of 2014, as ranked by the American College of Sports Medicine.

The greater Nashua location, scheduled to open later this year, will be the first in northern New England. There are more than 200 facilities across the country, mostly in Florida, where Orangetheory Fitness began and quickly grew in popularity.

"Orangetheory will provide people of all backgrounds and abilities a new and unique way to improve their health and fitness level. This isn’t like any other workout facility we have around here,” said Dwayne Duprey, owner of Orangetheory Fitness in New Hampshire.

During classes, participants wear heart-rate-monitors as they go through interval training and short bursts of exercise designed to maximize the “Orange Effect,” which adds extra caloric burn for up to 36 hours after the workout. The workouts use a variety of equipment including treadmills, rowing machines, suspension training and free weights. Participants burn 500 to 900 calories per 60-minute class.
