Partition Fire Damages Hudson Home
Firefighters knocked down the single-family house fire on Hickory Street March 25.
Hudson firefighters on Tuesday, March 25, were alerted to a structure fire at 5 Hickory Street at 8:15pm. Hudson Fire Alarm received a phone call from the homes occupant reporting smoke coming from the wall around the fireplace. On arrival Engine 2 the first due fire company reported nothing showing from the single family home.
Upon entering the homes basement firefighters found a moderate smoke condition and confirmed a partition fire. One hose line was stretched into the building and a search of the home was made to confirm all occupants had exited the building. As crews worked inside the home the department’s ladder truck, aerial was placed to the roof to extinguish any fire in the chimney.
Fire was found burning in the partition in the basement and crews quickly knocked the flames down. The fire was placed under control at 8:34pm. The fire caused minor damage to the partition and the residents were able to remain in the home. No civilian or firefighter injuries were reported.
