Police: Argument Led to Sunday Stabbing

Jose Montalvo-Rivera was charged with first-degree assault.

On May 7, 2013 at approximately 3:50 pm, members of the Nashua Police Department Patrol Division arrested Jose Montalvo-Rivera, 22, of 7 Commercial Street, Nashua, on a first-degree assault charge in connection with a weekend stabbing incident.

On May 5, 2013 at approximately 10 p.m. police officers responded to Commercial Street for the report of a disturbance involving weapons.

Contact was made with several individuals to include man who had been stabbed with a knife. A subsequent investigation by suggested Montalvo had allegedly stabbed the man following an argument between the two.

An arrest warrant was issued and Montalvo was arrested without incident during a car stop on West Hollis at Palm Streets on May 7.

A first-degree assault is punishable by 7 1/2 to 15 years imprisonment, exclusive of fines. Montalvo was held pending arraignment.
