Police to Give Tickets for Good Behavior

Concord Police Department to give citations out for good behavior.

Concord Police will be out in force handing out tickets to unsuspecting residents in coming weeks.

But no one will be challenges these citations in court.

The department has announced the police department will be handing out citations for good behavior as a way to connect with the community in a more positive way,

“This unique and lighthearted initiative fits perfectly with our department’s goal to provide exceptional service all of the time,” Police Chief Joseph O’Conner said in a press release.

Officers who brought up the idea, Ron Holsinger, and Robert Capone will be giving out citations, along with other officers. The “citations” will be issued to around 200 people in the community for good behaviors include wearing a helmet while riding a bike, wearing a seatbelt, yielding to pedestrians at a crosswalk and much more.

Those who receive citations will be eligible for two scoops of ice cream at Reasons to be Cheerful cafe, thanks to donations by owner Wade Rubinstein.
