Police Search Tree Streets for 2 Armed Men

Some downtown roads were "locked down" during the search for two men, reportedly with guns.

No arrests were made in a late night search that spanned several hours in the downtown area by Nashua Police.

Initial reports were that two men with guns were being sought.

As of 6 a.m. Aug. 20 no one had been arrested, said Nashua Police Sgt. Keith Dillon.

"Initial reports were that the two men were armed but we were unable to confirm that," Dillon said.

Starting at about 10 p.m. police swarmed the Tree Streets, focusing in on the area around West Otterson and Elm streets with foot patrols and police dogs. At one point police "locked down" parts of Central Street during the search, according to information provided by Southern NH Emergency Alerts.

More information is expected this morning on what prompted the police to be searching for the two men. We'll update you as soon as we have information.
