Rene P. Ayotte, Co-Owned Ayotte's Stateline in Hudson

Services Friday in Lowell, Mass.

Rene P. Ayotte, 79, a longtime resident of South Lowell, Mass., died on Sunday, August 11, 2013 at his home,  his family at his side. He was the beloved husband of Maureen C. (Handley) Ayotte to whom he was married for 57 years.
Born in Lowell on June 5, 1934, he was a son of the late George A. and Delia E. (Thibeault) Ayotte.
He was educated in the Lowell School system.
He was a longtime active parishioner of the Holy Family Parish, where he had been President of the Holy Name Society, the soloist at funeral Masses and a member of the Folk Group who sang at the 10 a.m. Mass.
Rene dedicated his life to music, having been a member of several choirs including, the Franco American Male Chorus, the Salem Chorale Society, the Spindle City Singers and the Harmonaires Quartet.
Prior to his retirement, he had been a co-owner of Ayotte’s Stateline in Hudson, NH.
Rene was part of a cribbage league and also enjoyed playing golf.
In addition to his wife Maureen, he is survived by three sons and three daughters-in-law: David M. and Patricia R. Ayotte of Brookline, NH, Gerald P. and Debra K. Ayotte of Lowell and Carl M. and Kathryn E. Ayotte of Nashua, NH; a daughter and son in law, Gisele M. and Harry S. Dailey of Wilton, NH; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters in law, Gerorge C. and Rita Ayotte of Nashua, and Normand L. and Lucille V. Ayotte of Lowell; a sister, Fleurette “Flo” Sheehy of Lowell; two aunts; also several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was also the brother of the late Simone Quinn and brother in law of the late Fred Sheehy and John Quinn.

Friends and relatives may call at the Roland W. Martin Funeral Home, 308 Pawtucket Street, Lowell., Mass., on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m.
Due to renovations at Holy Family Parish, his funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Chapel at St. Joseph Cemetery, 96 Riverneck Rd., Chelmsford on Aug. 16 at 9 a.m. Those wishing to attend the funeral Mass are asked to meet directly at the Chapel. Burial will follow in the family lot.
