Sister Doris Gagnon, Longtime Chaplain in Nashua

MANCHESTER - Sister Doris Gagnon, PM, 72, of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary, died June 15, 2013 at St. Joseph Residence in Manchester.
The daughter of Joseph and Marie-Ange (Dupuis) Gagnon, Sister Doris was born in Berlin, NH on October 24, 1940. She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary in Hudson on February 11, 1959, pronounced her First Vows on August 15, 1961, and Perpetual Vows on August 15, 1966.
Sister Doris received her Bachelor of Arts from Rivier University in Nashua, NH. She continued her studies in Ministry Foundations Program at Notre Dame College in Manchester, NH and CPE Programs at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua.

Sister Doris Taught for 12 years in the NH Catholic Elementary Schools in Berlin, Hudson, and Manchester. For 37 years she ministered as Chaplain accompanied by 30 faithful volunteers at S.N.H. Medical Center and at Greenbriar, Fairview, and Courville Nursing Homes. She fulfilled her position as Chaplain with compassion, joy, zeal, and love.
Sister Doris was predeceased by her parents and by two siblings.

Survivors include her brothers, Dr. Raymond Gagnon and wife Jeannine of Holyoke, MA, Dr. Paul Gagnon and wife Wilda of East Hartford, CT, Rev. Andre Gagnon of Manchester, NH, and Arthur Gagnon of Manchester, NH; her sisters, Rita Frechette and husband Robert of Manchester, Julienne Roy and husband Roger of Bristol, CT.
Calling hours are Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m. in the Resurrection Chapel of St. Marie Residence, 495 Mammoth Rd, Manchester. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Blessed John the XXIII Church (St. John the Evangelist), 25 Library St, Hudson, NH. Burial will follow in the Presentation of Mary Cemetery, Hudson.
