Stop & Shop Selling Items Half-Price

We were hearing from readers about the 50-percent discount being offered at NH Stop & Shop stores, so we called to find out more. 
Here's what Suzi Robinson of Stop & Shop had to say: 

Yes,  today we began an up to 50 percent off sale across the stores for most products. The discount rings automatically at the registers. Please see disclaimer below.

Savings not offered on all products including on products where prohibited by law. Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express accepted. Sale is offered on a first come, first served basis and is limited to products in the store; rain checks do not apply. Coupons will be honored, up to the price of the item.  Stores closing on or before September 21, 2013.  All sales final.
