Suspect in 1988 Nashua Murder to be Extradited from Canada

Prosecutors say DNA evidence, which couldn't be properly analyzed in 1988, links David Caplin to the crime scene.

The Quebec Court of Appeal has ruled that David Caplin, a suspect in a 1988 killing of a lesbian couple in Nashua, can be extradited to the U.S. to stand trial on two counts of first-degree murder, according to the Quebec Sun News.

Caplin's alleged accomplice, Anthony Barnaby, cannot be extradited to New Hampshire as he has already stood trial three times for the murders, each trial ended in a hung jury.

The two men, who grew up on a Micmac First Nations reserve in Quebec, were arrested in Quebec in April 2011 after U.S. authorities reopened the two-decade-old cold case.
