Woman Crashes Truck, Rolls It Into The Merrimack River In Nashua: NH State Police
Danielle Melanson of Merrimack was taken to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center after escaping her partially submerged truck Tuesday.
NASHUA, NH — A woman from Merrimack was taken to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center on Tuesday after a crash with another vehicle, which led her to roll her truck down an embankment and into the Merrimack River in Nashua.
Around 3 p.m., New Hampshire State Police were called to a crash on the Circumferential Highway for a report of a pickup truck in a river. The driver of the truck, Danielle Melanson, 30, of Merrimack, freed herself from the vehicle while partially submerged in the river, Tyler Dumont, the public information officer for state police, said.
“The preliminary investigation has determined that a white 2014 GMC Sierra pickup truck was involved in a collision with another vehicle while changing lanes, then struck a guardrail on the left side of Circumferential Highway westbound,” he said. “The pickup continued over the guardrail and rolled down an embankment in the median, between the two sides of the highway, before entering the Merrimack River where it stopped right-side up.”
