Aimee Mann, Sharon Van Etten to Headline Singer/Songwriter Festival

Five-day Music Hall event begins on Wednesday, April 17 and continues through Sunday, April 21.

The Music Hall's annual Portsmouth Singer/Songwriter Festival will bring some real star power to the stage when Aimee Mann and Sharon Van Etten perform at the end of the annual five-day event.

Leading up to their concert will be several other artists that will include The Dirty Projectors in the Music Hall Loft on Friday, April 19, and John Prine with Chris Trapper and Sarah Jarosz in the Music Hall on Saturday, April 20, according to the Music Hall's website.

The festival also includes a Seacoast Songwriter Round Robin tournament on Sunday, April 21 from 1 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. that will lead up to the Aimee Mann and Sharon Van Etten concert at 7:30 p.m., according to the Music Hall's website.

Portsmouth Singer/Songwriter organizers are very excitement about the lineup for this year's festival, which can be viewed on on the Music Hall's website.

“The multi-dimensional aspect really makes this year’s festival fresh and unique,” said Deputy Director of Programming and Curator Thérèse LaGamma in a prepared statement. “There’s something special about seeing an artist in the landmark Historic Theater, with its phenomenal acoustics, and then walking across the street to the Loft for a talk with noted photojournalist Joe Stevens, whose incredible images of Rock and Roll legends have just been digitized.”
