Court to Determine Fate of Lawsuit Against Cop-Killer's Mom
The suit was brought by four officers who were injured by Cullen Mutrie, who also shot and killed Greenland Police Chief Michael Maloney.
The New Hampshire Supreme Court is being asked to reconsider a decision to throw out a lawsuit against the mother of cop-killer Cullen Mutrie, according to WMUR-TV.
The suit was brought by four officers who were shot by Mutrie during a drug raid gone bad at 517 Post Road in Greenland on April 12, 2012. Greenland Police Chief Michael Maloney was killed in the firefight.
The four officers sued Mutrie's mother, Beverly Mutrie of North Hampton, saying she knew her son was dealing drugs out of the home he rented from her and provided her son with the gun used in the shootings. But the suit was dismissed last year by a judge who ruled that Beverly Mutrie's conduct was not an accident and thus wasn't covered by her insurance policy. The officers then appealed the dismissal to the New Hampshire Supreme Court.
