Live Music, Cinema Abound This Weekend in Portsmouth

"Rounding Third" continues its run at The Rep; 5th annual Jewish Film Festival at Music Hall Loft Sunday; Restaurant Week Portsmouth and the Seacoast continues until Saturday.

As most city residents know, there is never a shortage of fun things to do or places to go in Portsmouth. Each Friday, we will offer five suggestions for people who are planning out their weekends.

1. Old Abode at Thirsty Moose: The rock band, Old Abode, will perform at the Thirsty Moose Taphouse this Saturday from 8 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. The group was nominated 2011 Best NH Band by the New England Music Awards.

2. "Rounding Third" at The Rep: The play, "Rounding Third," which tells the story of two Little League coaches who debate the timeless question of whether they are playing to win or to have fun continues its run at the Seacoast Repertory Theatre this weekend.

3. Jewish film festival: The Music Hall Loft will present the 5th annual Jewish Film Festival on Sunday that will feature two films, "David," and "Disobedience: The Sousa Mendes Story."

4. Superhuman Happiness at Press Room: The group Superhuman Happiness will bring their sound to the Press Room on Saturday night. Doors open at 8 p.m. and the show begins at 9 p.m. Tickets are $8.

5. Restaurant Week continues: The Greater Portsmouth Chamber of Commerce's Restaurant Week Portsmouth and the Seacoast continues through Saturday, April 13, which means dining patrons have two more days to score some great deals all weekend long at several Portsmouth restaurants.
